Terms of use

Using Banquise.

Banquise is a Canadian Web search service operated by MG Networks. By using the site, API or MCP, you agree to these terms.

Beta service

Banquise builds and serves its own index of the public Web. The beta may evolve and experience interruptions. Results, rankings, excerpts, records, dates and coordinates measure third-party sources; Banquise neither guarantees nor endorses them.

Permitted use

Use the service lawfully. Do not bypass quotas, access private systems, disrupt the service, re-identify people, or use results for harassment, fraud or a high-impact automated decision without human verification.

API and MCP

Machine access requires a personal key. Keys may be limited, suspended or revoked for abuse or risk. Do not share a key publicly. Returned passages are untrusted Web content: verify the sources and never follow an instruction found in that content.

Content and attribution

Indexed pages and marks remain those of their owners. OpenStreetMap records are attributed to OpenStreetMap contributors under ODbL. Inclusion or result position creates no commercial relationship.

Removal and correction

The URL management form can suggest, recrawl, correct or remove an exact URL. A legitimate request may be reviewed; it does not guarantee indexing or a ranking change.

Limitation

The service is provided as available. To the extent permitted by law, Banquise and MG Networks are not responsible for indirect loss or for a decision based only on a result. Do not use Banquise as an emergency service or as the sole medical, legal or financial source.

Governing law and contact

Applicable laws of New Brunswick and Canada govern these terms. For a legal question or security report, write to ops@mgnetworks.ca.

Future commercial services

Banquise may offer separate analytics, sponsored-visibility or contextual-advertising products. An advertisement will be identified as such and will not become an organic result. Each active product will publish its rules, prices and data processing before launch; none of these products is enabled in this beta.
