Our approach
A Canadian engine,
useful everywhere.
Banquise builds its own index of the public Web. It serves a simple search to humans and bounded, sourced, explicitly untrusted passages to AI agents.
The robot extracts the useful text, the links and the technical signals the current index needs. It then destroys the response bytes: no WARC, no historical copy of the HTML, no media retained.
Quality comes before volume: robots.txt, per-site cadence, canonicalization, duplicate detection, adaptive freshness and anti-spam signals are all part of the admission path.
